The Gulfstream G280 is a nine-seat super-midsize jet with 3,600 nm of range, and three of the five aircraft in our June 2026 snapshot disclose asking prices: $11,900,000 once and $12,995,000 twice. In Asia it suits owners in Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong and Bangkok whose flying is mostly regional, reaching as far as Tokyo, Seoul or Dubai.

The five tails span 2012 to 2017 and 1,200 to 5,262 hours: four are in the United States and one in Austria. We track down the aircraft, verify its records, commission an independent inspection, hold funds in escrow and plan the ferry flight and registration.

G280 range from Singapore, Jakarta and Hong Kong

Our data sheet lists 3,600 nm, nine passengers, a 459 kt cruise and a 1.88 m cabin height. All distances quoted are still-air great-circle.

  • Singapore to Hong Kong, 1,380 nm. Well under half the range.
  • Bangkok to Mumbai, 1,620 nm. About 45%, an easy sector.
  • Singapore to Tokyo (Haneda), 2,860 nm. About 79%, nonstop with normal loads.
  • Jakarta to Tokyo, 3,120 nm. Around 87%; watch payload in winter.
  • Singapore to Dubai, 3,160 nm. Roughly 88%, close enough that a full cabin in winter deserves a careful flight plan.
  • Hong Kong to Dubai, 3,200 nm, and Singapore to Sydney, 3,400 nm. At 89% and 94% of range both are marginal, so wind, load and the reserve policy make the call; with a full cabin, Singapore to Sydney may need a fuel stop in Darwin, 1,800 nm out of Singapore.

Mumbai to London (3,910 nm) is beyond range, so plan a stop.

G280 price and the June 2026 listings

  • 2014, 5,262 hours, United States: $12,995,000. A single owner from delivery, flown privately under Part 91 throughout, with a Laseref third AHRS and upgraded thrust reversers.
  • 2012, 3,507 hours, United States: $12,995,000. One US corporate owner, a head-up display with EVS and synthetic vision; the seller flagged a major inspection falling due in May 2026.
  • 2014, 2,490 hours, Austria: $11,900,000. Engines on MSP Gold, EASA certification and electronic charts.
  • 2017, 1,867 hours, United States: call for quote. Third FMS, head-up display, 2019 paint, engines and APU on service plans.
  • 2014, 1,200 hours, United States: call for quote. Pro Line Fusion cockpit, nine-seat cabin.

Two aircraft ask the same $12,995,000 while 1,755 hours apart, which shows that equipment, inspection timing and ownership history weigh as heavily as time. The 2012 aircraft's major inspection was due in May 2026, before our June snapshot, so ask whether it was completed and who paid. We confirm with sellers before sending files.

G280 versus Challenger 350 and Praetor 600

Israel Aerospace Industries builds the G280 airframe for Gulfstream, and the type was certified in 2012 as the successor to the G200. Two Honeywell HTF7250G engines power it, and the PlaneView 280 flight deck is based on Collins Pro Line Fusion.

The obvious rivals are the Challenger 350 and the Praetor 600. On the figures this site uses, the Challenger 350 is listed at 3,200 nm and the Praetor 600 at 4,018 nm, which puts the G280's 3,600 nm between them, with the tallest cabin of the three at 1.88 m. Our Challenger 350 vs Praetor 600 guide covers that pairing in depth.

Pre-owned G280 checklist

  • Engine programme. HTF7250G cover under Honeywell MSP varies by tail; the Austrian jet lists MSP Gold, while three US aircraft list none.
  • Major inspection. Confirm when the next big scheduled event falls due and whether the seller completes it before closing.
  • Optional avionics. HUD, EVS, synthetic vision, a third FMS and a third AHRS show up as highlights on some listings, so never assume a given tail has them. Match the fit to your airports and crew.
  • Mandates. For European trips, ADS-B Out compliance, FANS 1/A+ and a Link 2000+ data link all matter.
  • Thrust reversers. One listing cites a reverser upgrade; ask for the documentation.
  • Paper trail. EASA and FAA aircraft arrive with different paperwork; we check what your chosen register accepts.
  • Connectivity. None of the June listings highlights internet, so ask what is fitted.
  • Corrosion. A humid base like Jakarta or Bangkok calls for a close look at drains and the lower fuselage.

Gulfstream G280 for sale into Thailand, Japan or Indonesia

A G280 bought in the United States flies to Asia in stages. A routing via Alaska keeps each leg inside range: Anchorage to Tokyo (Haneda) is 3,010 nm. The Austrian aircraft would come east through the Gulf. Once here, it can go on the Thai (HS-), Japanese (JA) or Indonesian (PK-) register, each with its own certification and tax steps, or on offshore marks such as Aruba (P4-) or Cayman (VP-C). Our Bangkok page covers the Thai market.

Gulfstream G280: buyer FAQ

Can a G280 fly Singapore to Tokyo nonstop?

Yes in normal conditions. Singapore to Haneda is 2,860 nm great-circle, about 79% of the 3,600 nm published range, which leaves room for routing and reserves. Very strong winter headwinds with a full cabin are the cases to check with your dispatcher.

How many passengers does a G280 carry?

Nine on our data sheet, and all five June 2026 aircraft are configured for nine. For regional hops that is a full cabin; on long overnight legs expect fewer people to sleep comfortably.

Can a G280 reach Dubai from Hong Kong?

On paper, yes: 3,200 nm against 3,600 nm. That is close to 90% of range, so winds and payload decide on the day, and a westbound winter flight with every seat taken may need a fuel stop in India.

Why does a G280 ask more than an older G450?

In the June 2026 snapshot the disclosed G280 asks run from $11,900,000 to $12,995,000, while three G450s ask between $8,500,000 and $10,950,000. The G280 is a much younger design with newer engines and avionics; the G450 offers a bigger cabin and more range, but its airframes date from 2005 to 2007. Which is better value depends on your missions, not the badge.
