The Embraer Legacy 650 is a 13-seat, three-zone business jet with a 3,900 nm range, built on the fuselage of the ERJ regional jet family. The one aircraft in our June 2026 snapshot, a 2014 example with 2,767 hours, asked $14,495,000, and the type fits groups and families in Jakarta, Shanghai and Tokyo who fill seats more often than they cross oceans.
It entered service in late 2010 as a longer-range development of the Legacy 600, and the updated 650E followed in 2016. Embraer ended 650E production in 2020 to concentrate on the Praetor and Phenom lines, while continuing to support the fleet.

Legacy 650 specs and range across Asia
Our data sheet: 3,900 nm, 459 kt cruise, 13 seats and 1.83 m of cabin height, with two Rolls-Royce AE3007A2 engines and a Honeywell Primus Elite cockpit. On still-air great-circle distances:
- Shanghai to Singapore, 2,050 nm: easy.
- Seoul (Gimpo) to Singapore, 2,510 nm: comfortable.
- Singapore to Tokyo (Haneda), 2,860 nm: comfortable with a full cabin.
- Jakarta (Halim) to Tokyo, 3,120 nm: fits with reserves.
- Hong Kong to Dubai, 3,200 nm: possible, though the margin narrows with 13 aboard.
- New Delhi to Farnborough, 3,650 nm: about 6% short of the figure, so winds decide and a winter stop is likely.
Mumbai to Farnborough, at 3,910 nm, is beyond the 3,900 nm figure, so plan it with a stop. With every seat filled, the operator may also trim bags or fuel on the longest sectors, so always quote routes with the real passenger count.
Legacy 650 price: the June 2026 listing
We recorded one aircraft in June 2026: a 2014 Legacy 650 in the United States with 2,767 hours, engines on Rolls-Royce CorporateCare, a 13-passenger layout, Gogo Avance L5 WiFi and lavatories front and rear, asking $14,495,000.
One listing does not make a market price. The factors we would compare against it are CorporateCare status on both AE3007A2s, APU cover, whether the aircraft is a 650 or a 650E, hours and cycles, time to the next heavy inspection, cabin condition and connectivity. We can search for comparable aircraft, including ones not publicly listed, once we know your seat count and routes.
Legacy 650 vs Praetor 600: two different families
The Embraer badge and similar range numbers hide two unrelated designs. The Legacy 650 descends from the ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 regional jets through the Legacy 600: a long tube, Rolls-Royce AE3007 engines, conventional flight controls and Primus Elite avionics. The Praetor 600 comes from the clean-sheet Legacy 500, with fly-by-wire, Honeywell HTF7500E engines, Pro Line Fusion and 9 seats.
Choose the 650 when seat count, cabin length and baggage space matter most. Choose the Praetor for newer systems and lower age. Commonality with the ERJ airline fleet also helps parts supply for the 650. Another frequent cross-shop is the Challenger 650, with a wider cabin but fewer seats.
What to check on a used Legacy 650
- Rolls-Royce CorporateCare. Enrolment on both AE3007A2s and the transfer terms; the June aircraft is enrolled.
- APU and airframe programmes. Confirm what is covered and what the buyer inherits.
- 650 or 650E. The 650E launched with a long factory warranty; check what remains and whether it transfers.
- Next heavy calendar inspection. When it falls and how long the aircraft will be down.
- Primus Elite and mandates. ADS-B Out, FANS 1/A+ datalink with CPDLC, plus Link 2000+ capability if Europe is planned.
- Satellite link for Asia. Gogo Avance L5 works over North America only, so budget a Ka-band or similar retrofit.
- Humidity and hangarage. A long fuselage stored outside in Jakarta or Manila needs a corrosion baseline and regular inspection.
- Cabin across three zones. Seat tracking, divan berthing, galley equipment and lavatory plumbing; refurbishing a cabin this long is a major job.
- Records and damage history. Complete logs and history since delivery.
Legacy 650 for sale to Asian owners: registration
A Japanese owner registering locally would use the JA register, a mainland Chinese owner B-, an Indonesian owner PK- and a Malaysian operator 9M-, each with its own import process and approvals. Bermuda VP-B is a common alternative for privately owned large jets in the region; it carries its own oversight requirements and does not remove the need for local permits. Our registration guide for Asian owners compares the options, and tax treatment should be confirmed with your adviser before signing. The June aircraft was in the United States, so delivery means a Pacific crossing with stops, planned after the inspection.

How many passengers can a Legacy 650 carry?
Our data gives up to 13, and the June 2026 aircraft is laid out for 13 with lavatories at both ends. That seat count is what usually tips family and group buyers toward it rather than the 9-seat Praetor 600.
Can a Legacy 650 fly Mumbai to London nonstop?
Not on the numbers. Mumbai to Farnborough is 3,910 nm great-circle, slightly more than the 3,900 nm range figure, so we plan it with a stop. New Delhi to London, at 3,650 nm, is possible on a good day with a lighter cabin.
Is the Legacy 650 still in production?
No. Embraer stopped building the 650E in 2020 and continues to support the fleet. For buyers that means pre-owned only, with aircraft from late 2010 to the final 650E deliveries.
What is the difference between the Legacy 650 and the 650E?
The 650E, from 2016, is the updated version with avionics and cabin improvements and a long factory warranty at launch. The airframe, AE3007A2 engines and range are essentially the same, so the gap is age, equipment and remaining warranty.
