The Gulfstream G550 is a 14-seat, 6,750 nm heavy jet that Gulfstream built for about 18 years until mid-2021, and all five examples in our June 2026 snapshot are priced privately, as 'Make offer' or 'Please call'. In Asia it appeals to owners in Mumbai, Delhi, Jakarta and Hong Kong who need Europe nonstop without paying new-generation money.
These five tails run from 2004 to 2018 and from 800 to 5,350 hours; one sits in the United Kingdom and four in the United States. We handle the search, the records review, an independent inspection, escrow and the delivery and registration steps to your Asian base.

G550 for sale: the five June 2026 tails
Every aircraft below is configured for 14 passengers:
- 2018, 800 hours, United Kingdom. The seller calls it the lowest-time G550 on the market, with a premium cabin. No engine programme is listed.
- 2011, 4,367 hours, North Carolina. Rolls-Royce CorporateCare Enhanced, forward galley, APU on Honeywell MSP.
- 2008, 5,170 hours, North Carolina. Fully enrolled, Starlink fitted in 2023, 2023 paint, forward galley plus crew rest.
- 2004, 5,182 hours, Florida. Engines on JSSI Pro Rata, APU on JSSI, Ka-band Wi-Fi, four US owners.
- 2004, 5,350 hours, New York. Rolls-Royce CorporateCare, a 192-month inspection with refurbishment in 2020, factory paint in 2017.
Because this list is a June picture, we ask each seller to confirm status before you spend time on a file.
What moves a G550 price
None of the five sellers disclosed a figure, so we give none here. What separates one G550 from another on price:
- Engine programme. CorporateCare, an independent JSSI contract and no cover at all are read very differently by buyers and lenders.
- Calendar inspections. An aircraft with its long-interval inspection behind it, like the 2004 New York jet, carries less near-term exposure than one approaching it.
- Hours against age. The 2018 aircraft has flown 800 hours; the 2004 pair are above 5,000.
- Cabin and connectivity. Starlink or Ka-band and a crew rest area earn their keep on Asia-Europe sectors.
Our private jet price guide sets these drivers out across types.
G550 range: Europe and North America from Asia
On our data sheet the G550 flies 6,750 nm at a 488 kt cruise, with a 1.88 m cabin height. We quote great-circle mileage in calm air; airways and weather make real routes longer.
- Mumbai to London, 3,910 nm. Under 60% of range, easy with every seat full.
- Hong Kong to London, 5,220 nm. About 77%, comfortable.
- Tokyo to New York, 5,860 nm. Around 87%, fine with normal loads.
- Delhi to New York, 6,340 nm, and Jakarta to London, 6,360 nm. Both within 10% of range, where wind, load and reserve policy settle it; a strong winter headwind can force a fuel stop.
- Mumbai to New York, 6,760 nm. Just beyond the published figure, so plan a stop in Europe.
Singapore to San Francisco (7,330 nm) needs a stop too; Tokyo splits it into 2,860 nm and 4,470 nm.
G550 versus G450, G500 and G650ER
The G550 grew out of the Gulfstream V. It flies on Rolls-Royce BR710 engines and introduced the Honeywell-based PlaneView flight deck. Its closest sibling is the G450, which came from the GIV line, shares the PlaneView cockpit and cabin cross-section, and trades cabin length and range (4,350 nm) for a lower price of entry.
Watch the names. From 2003 to 2012 Gulfstream sold a reduced-fuel G550 derivative called the G500. The G500 delivered since 2018 is a different, clean-sheet aircraft with fly-by-wire and the Symmetry flight deck. The G650ER sits above both, with a wider cabin and 7,500 nm.
Pre-owned G550 checklist
- Engine cover. Confirm what the BR710 contract covers and whether it transfers; the June tails mix CorporateCare, CorporateCare Enhanced, JSSI and none.
- APU. Separate cover exists on some tails, Honeywell MSP on one and JSSI on another.
- Inspections. Find the last long-interval calendar event and when the next falls due. One June listing reports its 192-month inspection done in 2020.
- Mandates. On early serials, confirm European CPDLC, ADS-B Out and FANS 1/A+ are installed and certified, with paperwork.
- Connectivity. Starlink was retrofitted on one aircraft in 2023; check approval on your intended register.
- Ownership chain. Four owners, as on one Florida jet, means four sets of records to reconcile.
- Corrosion. Twenty-year-old airframes heading to Jakarta or Singapore need close looks at drains, the lower fuselage and wheel wells.
Importing a G550 to India, Indonesia or Hong Kong
India, where aircraft carry VT- marks, levies IGST on imported aircraft; your tax adviser should confirm the rate and any relief that applies at the time. Indonesia (PK-) and Hong Kong, whose marks begin B-H, B-K or B-L, each have their own airworthiness and tax steps. Some owners skip a local register and fly on Isle of Man (M-) or Cayman (VP-C) marks through a management company. Our import tax guide outlines the general picture by country.

Can a G550 fly Mumbai to New York nonstop?
Not on paper. The great-circle distance is 6,760 nm against a 6,750 nm published range, before winds and reserves. A stop in London splits it into a 3,910 nm first leg and an Atlantic crossing, both routine.
G550 or G650ER for Hong Kong to New York?
Hong Kong to Teterboro is 6,990 nm, past the G550's 6,750 nm, so a G550 plans a stop. The G650ER's 7,500 nm covers it on most days, although winds and payload still decide. If that route drives the purchase, compare the two directly.
How many passengers does a G550 seat?
Up to 14 on our data sheet, and all five aircraft in the June 2026 snapshot are configured that way. Two list a forward galley, one of them with a crew rest area, and that shapes how the cabin works on long nights more than the seat count does.
