A6- registration with the GCAA
The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) keeps the national register, where aircraft carry the A6- prefix. An A6- jet suits an owner who lives in the Emirates and flies under a UAE operator. DWC and DXB for business aviation
Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Dubai South has become the focus for business aviation, with several private terminals including Jetex, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim and Jet Aviation. Dubai International (DXB) still handles private jets through FBOs such as Jet Aviation, but it is slot-coordinated and congested at peak times, so an owner basing a jet in Dubai usually looks at DWC first.
VAT and delivering onward to Asia
The UAE has charged 5% VAT since 1 January 2018. An aircraft used for commercial transport of passengers or goods can be zero-rated, while one for private use is standard-rated, so the operating structure decides the bill; take UAE tax advice before the purchase closes. Dubai also works as a stopping point on deliveries east: Mumbai is 1,040 nm away, Singapore 3,160 nm and Hong Kong 3,200 nm.
