The Bombardier Challenger 605 is the widebody Challenger built from 2007 until the 650 replaced it in 2015, with GE CF34-3B engines, 10 seats and 4,000 nm of range per our spec sheet. Two appear in the June 2026 data: a 2013 jet at $12,000,000 and a 2009 jet with price on request. In Asia it suits buyers who want a wide cabin for Singapore to Dubai or Hong Kong to India flying without the cost of a new-generation airframe.
Two listings make a thin market, so this page also explains how a 605 is valued and what to check on an aircraft that is now 13 to 17 years old.

Challenger 605 for sale: June 2026 listings
- 2013, United States, 3,767 hours, $12,000,000. Ten seats in a double-club layout, described as low-time for the type.
- 2009, United States, 6,306 hours, price on call. Ten-seat executive cabin.
Neither listing names an engine programme, which is the first question we would put to both sellers. Both aircraft are in the US, so a long delivery flight is part of the plan. It can route west through Europe and the Gulf, finishing with the 1,040 nm hop from Dubai to Mumbai, or east across the Pacific via Anchorage and Tokyo, which are 3,010 nm apart. We confirm with each seller that the jet is still available before you spend money on inspections.
How a Challenger 605 price is set
Only the 2013 aircraft discloses its asking figure. The gap between the two jets, 2,539 hours and four build years, shows the main drivers:
- engine programme status on the CF34-3B engines and APU, often the single largest value item;
- time to the next major calendar inspection and whether the seller will complete it;
- avionics upgrades already completed, for example ADS-B Out or a FANS 1/A+ datalink;
- cabin and paint age, and whether a refurbishment is due;
- connectivity that works outside North America.
Whether the 2013 jet's $12,000,000 represents good value depends mostly on programme status, which its listing does not state. We do not publish estimates for unpriced aircraft; we get the seller's number and show you how the records support it.
Challenger 605 range from Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai
Taking the 4,000 nm range as a ceiling, we check each route's great-circle distance and hold back fuel for wind, weight and reserves:
- Singapore to Dubai, 3,160 nm, and Hong Kong to Dubai, 3,200 nm. Around 80% of range: realistic nonstops with ten aboard.
- Singapore to Sydney, 3,400 nm. Nonstop with a sensible margin.
- Singapore to Tokyo (Haneda), 2,860 nm. Comfortable both ways.
- Hong Kong to New Delhi, 2,020 nm. A short leg for a cabin this size.
- Mumbai to London (Farnborough), 3,910 nm. Right at the limit; against winter westbound winds, expect a fuel stop.
- Bali to Dubai, 4,050 nm. Longer than the range, so one stop.
604, 605 and 650: the widebody Challenger line
The 600 series traces back to the Canadair Challenger of the late 1970s and grew through the 601 and 604. The 605 kept the 604's CF34-3B engines and wide cross-section but added larger cabin windows, a redesigned interior and Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics with four large displays. The Challenger 650 followed in 2015 with the Vision flight deck, about 5% more takeoff thrust and a refreshed cabin.
The Challenger 350 is a narrower design from the 300 series, not a smaller 605. Buyers who pick the 605 usually do so for cabin width and range.
Checklist for a pre-owned Challenger 605
- CF34-3B engine programme: GE OnPoint or JSSI cover and what transfers. Without cover, we ask for trend data, borescope reports and hot section history.
- APU cover and hours since the last overhaul.
- Next major calendar inspection, and what the previous one found.
- Avionics compliance: FANS 1/A+ and CPDLC for oceanic and European routes, plus ADS-B Out. Older Pro Line 21 aircraft may need upgrades.
- Connectivity. Add a satellite system if the jet only has US air-to-ground Wi-Fi.
- Landing gear and structural items tied to cycles and calendar age.
- Records completeness, including damage history, across 13 to 17 years.
- Corrosion, especially if the aircraft will be based in Manila, Jakarta or Mumbai through the monsoon.
Bringing a Challenger 605 to India or Southeast Asia
For an Indian owner, VT- registration involves DGCA approvals and IGST on import; confirm the current rate and any exemptions with an adviser. The import tax guide covers the main Asian markets.
Southeast Asian owners often use Malaysia (9M-), Indonesia (PK-) or the Philippines (RP-C), and some prefer Bermuda (VP-B) or San Marino (T7-). We handle sourcing, verify the logbooks, book an independent pre-purchase inspection, run escrow, plan the ferry and help with the registration filing.

WhatsApp the Asia desk directlyBombardier Challenger 605: buyer FAQ
Can a Challenger 605 fly Mumbai to London nonstop?
Only in good conditions. At 3,910 nm the trip uses nearly all of the 4,000 nm range, leaving the outcome to wind, cabin load and reserve fuel; westbound in winter, a stop is often needed. New Delhi to London, 3,650 nm, has more margin.
What changed from the Challenger 604 to the 605?
Larger windows, a redesigned cabin and Pro Line 21 avionics with bigger displays. The engines and cross-section stayed the same, so the step was mainly in the cockpit and cabin.
How many passengers does a Challenger 605 carry?
Ten in our data, and both June 2026 listings use ten-seat layouts, one as a double club. The widebody cabin is what usually tips buyers toward it over a Challenger 350.
Which engine programme should a Challenger 605 have?
Ideally GE OnPoint or an equivalent such as JSSI on the CF34-3B engines, plus APU cover. Neither June listing names a programme, so we would review the engine records in detail before any offer.
