The Cessna Citation Sovereign is a pre-owned super-midsize jet with nine seats, a 1.73 m cabin and 3,000 nm of range in our data, known for strong short-field performance. Two of the four Sovereigns in our June 2026 snapshot disclosed asks, $7,300,000 for a 2009 and $6,750,000 for a 2006, and it suits buyers in India, Indonesia and the Philippines who fly regionally but want North Asia or the Gulf one stop away.
Every Sovereign in that snapshot was an original model built between 2006 and 2010. The Sovereign+ followed at the end of 2013 with new engines and a new cockpit, so the first question on any enquiry is which one you are looking at.

Sovereign vs Sovereign+: two different aircraft
The original Sovereign (Model 680) entered service in 2004. It took a stretched version of the Excel fuselage, added a new wing and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306C engines, and uses the Honeywell Primus Epic cockpit, as the 2007 June listing notes.
The Sovereign+, FAA-certified in December 2013, brought winglets, the more efficient PW306D and a Garmin G5000 flight deck. The 3,000 nm in our data reflects that later version; early Sovereigns publish somewhat less, so we plan the older airframes with extra margin.
Its neighbours share parts of its design. The Citation Latitude keeps the Sovereign wing and tail under a wider flat-floor cabin, and the Citation XLS+ has the same cabin cross-section in a shorter body with less range.
Citation Sovereign range on regional Asian routes
We treat 3,000 nm as a ceiling and trim it for early serials. Great-circle distances:
- Singapore to Shanghai, 2,050 nm, and Singapore to New Delhi, 2,250 nm: nonstop with a sensible margin.
- Hong Kong to Mumbai, 2,310 nm, and Jakarta to Shanghai, 2,400 nm: nonstop, though a full cabin on an early serial deserves a careful fuel plan.
- Singapore to Seoul Gimpo, 2,510 nm: around 84% of the figure, workable on most days.
- Singapore to Tokyo Haneda, 2,860 nm: about 95%. Headwinds, payload and reserves decide it; the return from Tokyo against winter westerlies is the leg most likely to need Taipei or Hong Kong.
- Singapore to Dubai, 3,160 nm, and Jakarta to Tokyo, 3,120 nm: over the range. Singapore to Dubai works as two legs via Mumbai (2,120 nm, then 1,040 nm).
Its short-field manners widen the choice of secondary airports in the Indonesian and Philippine archipelagos, subject to each runway's length, temperature and the weight on the day.
Citation Sovereign for sale: June 2026 prices and listings
Four original Sovereigns were listed, all in the United States:
- 2009, 4,239 hours, $7,300,000: a single corporate owner from new, nine seats, ESP Gold and a freshly completed Doc 15 inspection.
- 2006, 7,289 hours, $6,750,000: engines overhauled in 2023, a Duncan Aviation interior refurbishment the same year, Gogo Avance L5, ESP Gold.
- 2010, 2,791 hours, call for pricing: lowest time of the group, new windshields in January 2025, ADS-B Out and WAAS, PowerAdvantage.
- 2007, 7,729 hours, call for pricing: interior and paint refreshed in July 2024, an eight-seat double club, Primus Epic, no engine programme listed.
The two disclosed asks sit $550,000 apart despite a three-year and roughly 3,000-hour gap, which suggests the 2023 overhaul and refurbishment carry real weight in the 2006 aircraft's number. We request the asks and records on the other two when you want them, and any of the four may have changed status since June.
What we check on a pre-owned Sovereign
- Engine programme: Pratt & Whitney Canada ESP Gold or Textron PowerAdvantage, the cover level, transfer terms, and the buy-in cost where engines are off programme, as on the 2007 jet.
- Engine history: overhaul dates and shop reports wherever a listing highlights recent work.
- Inspections: which scheduled items are fresh, and the due date of the next major calendar inspection.
- Avionics: Primus Epic software level, ADS-B Out, WAAS, and FANS 1/A+ with CPDLC if Europe or oceanic legs are planned. Price any upgrade before you offer.
- Windshields and airframe: replacement history, as on the 2010 listing, plus a corrosion inspection sized for a humid base.
- Connectivity: Gogo's air-to-ground service is built around North America, so plan a satellite alternative.
- Records and damage history, complete from new.

Registering a Sovereign in India, the Gulf or offshore
Indian buyers register on VT-, and IGST applies on import; the rate and any exemptions belong with a tax adviser, and our import tax guide lists the questions to ask. Dubai owners use A6-, Indonesian owners PK- and Philippine owners RP-C. For multi-country flying, Bermuda (VP-B) and San Marino (T7-) are common offshore choices.
From the US the ferry takes several legs inside the jet's range. We coordinate sourcing, records review, an independent pre-purchase inspection, escrow closing and delivery, and support the paperwork at the destination register.

Can a Citation Sovereign fly Mumbai to Singapore nonstop?
Yes, in normal conditions. The sector is 2,120 nm great-circle, about 71% of the 3,000 nm figure, leaving space for winds and reserves even on an early serial. A heavy load still needs a fuel plan on the day.
How do I tell a Sovereign from a Sovereign+?
Look at the flight deck, the engines and the serial number. A Garmin G5000 with PW306D engines means a Sovereign+ from late 2013 onward; Honeywell Primus Epic with PW306C means the original. The logbooks and engine data plates settle any doubt.
Is a Citation Sovereign suited to Indonesian island airports?
It is one of the better choices in its class for shorter runways, which helps across the archipelago. Each airport still needs a performance check for length, temperature and weight. Bali to Jakarta is 510 nm and Bali to Singapore 900 nm, short work for the type.
